Quick Fixes 22 – How to add references from invoices on the reconciliation tab on Xero

  1. Find the Invoice – Identify the sales invoice (e.g., Invoice 37) with a reference (e.g., P-O CRM08 12).
  2. Prepare the Bank Statement CSV – When uploading a CSV file to Xero, ensure the Reference column is correctly mapped to the reference field in Xero.
  3. Upload the Statement – Import the bank statement into Xero with the reference included.
  4. Check the Bank Reconciliation – After uploading, the reference will appear alongside the invoice number in the bank transactions.
  5. Match the Payment – Xero will automatically find and match the invoice to the payment, making reconciliation easier!
